A Mounting Bill

Lynn* had been struggling to pay her electricity bill for months. When she received a utility shut off notice for $1700, she asked her Navigator if he could help.

Through community partnerships, the Navigator was able to place a hold on the utility account to avoid the shut off and give Lynn more time to pay the bill. After researching all the options available, the Navigator helped her apply for a program where the overdue amount was forgiven after a year of paying on time. Lynn got approved, kept her electricity on, and is still making her payments on time.
