Anna* was a single mom working full time. Her three young children were cared for by a patchwork of family members, and while she was grateful for their help, this arrangement was not always reliable.
When her situation started impacting her attendance at work and her stress level, Anna’s supervisor suggested she speak with their workplace Navigator. The Navigator was able to connect Anna with staff at the local Child Care Resources Center, who helped Anna through the application process for child care financial assistance. She was approved for 40 hours of care.
The Navigator also referred Anna to the Employee Assistance Program at her workplace to help her manage her stress. In a follow-up meeting with her Navigator, Anna said,
“Thank you. I was able to set a few goals to moving forward and have been doing well as far as achieving them.”
