Support for a New Mother

Posted on January 24, 2019

When Jasmine* found out she was pregnant, she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to support herself and a baby.

She called her Navigator and asked for help. The Navigator sat down with Jasmine to help her apply for Medicaid, set up a WIC appointment, then discuss other resources she might need during her pregnancy. Together, Jasmine and the Navigator found a support group that worked with her work schedule and found a medical home to use during and after the pregnancy so she would have support and care while she recovered. Jasmine was able to stop worrying and look forward to her new baby.
